And the LGBTQIA+ Community Excellence Award goes to…

April 15, 2021

We are committed to recognizing individuals who support the LGBTQIA+ community through their demonstrated commitment to equity and service.

Resource Center is proud to announce that Terry D. Loftis will be honored with its first LGBTQIA+ Community Excellence Award at the Center’s virtual 23rd annual Toast To Life Venetian Carnival on May 1, 2021. Loftis’ devotion to the community and to Resource Center, coupled with his drive to succeed, make him a worthy recipient.

Resource Center Chief Executive Officer Cece Cox says, “Terry Loftis is an important figure in Resource Center’s history, serving as Board president in the 1990s amidst the early devastation of the HIV pandemic, and again 20+ years later. He has helped chart our course all along the way, given generously of his time and talents, and always inspired us with his irrepressible smile. Terry has been dedicated not only to the Center’s growth and legacy but also to the City of Dallas as a whole. It is our great joy to honor him with the LGBTQIA+ Community Excellence Award.”

Loftis is a Dallas native and a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts. He has been actively engaged in the Dallas arts and nonprofit community for many years and serves on the board of directors of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Black Tie Dinner, Arts District Dallas, and President’s Council of the Advisory Board of Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual & Performing Arts. He has served on the boards of Resource Center, The Dallas Way, Friends of the Katy Trail, USA Film Festival and TITAS.

Loftis is currently the Donna Wilhelm Family President and Executive Director of TACA (The Arts Community Alliance). Prior to TACA, he was Vice President of the Broadway Strategic Return Fund (BSRF) in New York. Loftis has spent the bulk of his career in marketing/advertising and was President of Dallas-based Eisenberg And Associates. Loftis is also a Tony-nominated Broadway producer.
